Introducing Customer Quotes: price it, send it, book it in

A priced quote with a green tick beside a calendar, showing a quote accepted and booked in

Send a priced quote by email or WhatsApp, let your customer accept it from their phone, and turn their yes into a booking without typing anything twice.

Today we're rolling out Customer Quotes. You can now price a job in Garage Shift, send the quote to your customer's phone, and see the moment they accept it. When they do, the quote becomes a booking in a click, with the car, the customer and the work already filled in.

Why we built it

Most garage quotes still happen over the phone, on the back of a jobsheet, or in a text typed from memory. The customer says they'll think about it, the price lives in someone's head, and when they ring back a week later nobody is quite sure what was promised. Or the quote goes out by email and you never find out whether it was read. We wanted a quote to be a proper record: priced, sent, answered, and tied to the job that follows.

Build a quote the way you build a jobsheet

A quote uses the same building blocks as a jobsheet, so there is nothing new to learn. Look up the car by registration, pick the customer or add a new one on the spot, and add the service with how long it takes. Then price the work: labour in one section, parts in another. Parts from your catalogue come up as you type, and Garage Shift works out the VAT and the quoted total as you go.

Price the labour and parts, then send it by email or WhatsApp.

If the price needs some context, add a note to the customer and it appears on their quote. Drafts save as you work and only you can see them, so a half-finished quote is a perfectly good place to stop and come back to later.

Send it by email or WhatsApp

When it's ready, press Send quote. Your customer gets a link to their own quote page by email, by WhatsApp from your own number, or both. A quote is valid for 14 days from the day it's sent, and the page tells the customer exactly when the price runs out.

Once a quote is sent, it is fixed. Need to change the price? Duplicate it as a new draft, make the change and send it under a new number. That way the price a customer agreed to is always the price on record, and nobody can argue later about which version they saw.

Your customer says yes from their phone

The quote page shows what's included, the total with VAT, and your note. There is no app to download, no account to create and no password to remember. Your customer presses Accept or Decline, and that's it.

What your customer sees: the price, what's included, and one tap to accept.
  • You get a notification in Garage Shift the moment a customer answers
  • Anyone on your team who gets new-booking alerts on WhatsApp gets one for an accepted quote too
  • A declined quote is final, and you can duplicate it to offer a revised price
  • A quote that runs out shows as expired, so you know to follow up

From yes to booked in

An accepted quote doesn't drop onto your calendar on its own, because you decide when the work happens. Instead it waits on your dashboard as a task: book in one accepted quote. Open it, press Create booking, and the new booking opens already filled in with the car, the customer and the service with its time. Pick a slot, save, and the quote is marked Booked in, linked to the job it became.

An accepted quote waits on the dashboard until you book it in.

See what you've won

Your dashboard now has a Quotes card for the month: how much work you've won, how many quotes were accepted out of those sent, how many are still waiting on a reply, and your acceptance rate. The Quotes list lets you filter by status, so the quotes still waiting for an answer are always one click away.

Quote the extra work you found

Spot worn pads or an advisory during a service? Finish the job and raise a quote straight from it. The customer and the car carry over, and the quote stays linked to the job it came from, so the follow-up work never slips through the cracks.

Every quote keeps its own timeline: when it was created, sent, sent again, answered and booked in. If a customer rings to ask what they agreed to, the answer is one click away.

Customer Quotes is live in your dashboard right now. Open Quotes, start one for the next car that needs work, and send it before the customer has left the forecourt.
